Abstract
1,247,505. Selective printing. ING. C. OLIVETTI & C. S.p.A. 2 April, 1970 [23 April, 1969], No. 15763/70. Heading B6F. [Also in Divisions B8 and F2] A device for winding up a tape, e.g. the print-out tape from a calculating machine, comprises a rotatable take-up roller including a spool 29 mounted on a shaft 20 which drives the spool through a friction clutch (27, 34), Fig. 4 (not shown); axially extending grooves 41 in the circumferential surface of the spool 29 receive sliders 47 which protrude from the said surface and which are so mounted that they are axially movable in a first direction in response to the pull exerted as a wound up roll of tape is pulled off the roller and furthermore are movable in towards the axis of the roller in response to the axial movement, whereby the sliders disengage from the inner hole of the wound roll which can thus be removed from the roller under the action of a relatively small axial force such as not to give rise to sliding movements between adjacent layers of tape on the roll. A wire spring 36 extends along a further axially extending groove 35 in the spool 29 and is adapted to grip the leading end of a tape inserted thereunder.
