Abstract

1,247,285. Insect control compositions containing polyunsaturated esters. CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED. 25 Sept., 1969 [29 Sept., 1968], No. 47293/69. Heading ASE. [Also in Division C2] Compositions for the control of insects, particularly Hemiptera, by preventing the metamorphosis thereof, comprise compounds of the formula: in which R is an alkyl (1-6C), cycloalkyl or aralkyl and R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> are alkyls (1-6C), with an inert carrier. Solid or liquid carriers such as talc, silica, pyrophyllite, clay or vermiculites and acetone, xylene, peanut, cottonseed and sesame oils, together with other mentional additives may be used. Examples describe the use of methyl and ethyl 3, 7, 11-trimethyl dodeca-2,4,6,10-tetraenoates and ethyl 3,11-dimethyl-7-ethyltrideca-2,4,6,10-tetraenoate.
