Abstract

1,246,846. Masted lift trucks. LIPTON PRODUCTS Ltd. 13 Feb., 1970 [15 Nov., 1968], No. 54305/68. Heading B8H. The mast assembly 1 of a lift truck is supported on the truck chassis by trunnions 10 which engage apertures 11 in brackets 12 on the assembly and which are withdrawable manually against the action of springs to free the assembly for removal by lifting apparatus. Each trunnion 10 is slidable in a cylindrical housing 9 secured to a bracket 8 on a plate 6, which is tiltably mounted on the truck chassis. To remove the mast assembly from the truck, the trunnions are withdrawn against the action of springs and held in the withdrawn position by handles 15. The mast assembly is then supported by a crossmember 13 resting on a cross-member 7 on the plate 6, and can be lifted away by a crane.
