Abstract

1,246,242. Continuous casting. URALSKY ZAVOD TYAZHELOGO MASHINOSTROENIA IMENI-S ORDZHONIKIDZE. 18 Feb., 1970, No. 7692/70. Heading B3F. A continuous casting mould has ducts 1 for cooling fluid within the mould walls, the ducts being substantially parallel to the casting direction and at least two of the duets being in communication for fluid flow in series. The cooling fluid is supplied through pipes 5, 5<SP>1</SP> to manifolds 4, 4<SP>1</SP>, it travels down through the ducts to manifolds 7, 7<SP>1</SP>, then up through other ducts and out through pipes 6.
