A battery container is made from a composition comprising a copolymer of a conjugated diolefin and a styrene having a weight ratio of diene to styrene greater than 4 : 1, at least 100 parts by weight of filler per 100 parts of polymer, and a vulcanizing agent. The composition may contain oils and other processing aids. The composition is preferably granulated before moulding.
