Abstract

1,246,040. Electrophotographic element. ILFORD Ltd. 15 May, 1970 [16 May, 1969], No. 25201/69. Heading H1K. The disclosure of the Specification is very similar to that of Specification 1,244,942 but the claims relate to a transparent electrophotographic element comprising a transparent synthetic film substrate which has been rubbed or treated so as to receive a hydrophilic layer, an electroconductive layer comprising a sulphonated polymethylene styrene or polystyrene or an alkali metal or ammonium salt thereof and a layer of transparent photoconductor. In the specific embodiment the electroconductive layer is a sulphonated polystyrene with 70% of the phenyl groups substituted with sulphonic acid groups.
