Abstract

1,245,268. Cellulose compositions; resin pigment preparations. KEMISK VAERK KOGE A/S. 5 Sept.. 1968 [6 Sept., 1967], No. 42335/68. Headings C3F and C3P. A particulate pigment preparation comprises particles of a resin and organic pigment dispersed within the resin particles, the pigment being present in the particles in an amount of 70% or more by weight based on the total weight of the resin and pigment. The preparation may be made by mixing the resin, pigment, water and an organic liquid that is immiscible with water and is incapable of dissolving the resin but which is absorbed by the resin, and thereby forming an organic solid phase comprising the resin, pigment and organic liquid, and an aqueous phase that is free of organic liquid, and separating the aqueous phase from the solid phase.' Exemplified preparations include polyvinyl butyral and one of phthalocyanine blue, phthalocyanine green, lithol ruby, benzidine yellow and carbon black, a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate with one of phthalocyanine blue, phthalocyanine green, benzidine yellow, lithol red, pyrazolon orange, carbon black and carmine, polyvinyl chloride and phthalocyanine blue, a maleinate resin and benzidine yellow, ethyl cellulose and one of benzidine yellow, lithol ruby and phthalocyanine blue, cellulose acetate butyrate and phthalocyanine blue, and nitrocellulose with one of phthalocyanine blue or green.
