1,244,789. Dust suppression means for mining machines. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 8 Sept., 1970 [6 Nov., 1969], No. 54490/69. Heading E1F. Dust suppression means for a mineral-mining machine comprises a member 10 having a mounting formation through which extends a passage 16 for dust suppression liquid. The mounting formation is such as to permit angular change in position of the member relative to 'the machine when the member is mounted on the machine. A locking formation on the member in one angular position of the member prevents, and in another angular position allows, dismounting of the member from the machine. The member is so shaped that it only partly defines the outlet aperture, the remainder of which is defined by an adjacent portion of the machine. The mounting formation may be either a circular spigot 12 or a circular recess about the axis. of either of which the member is rotated. The locking formation is a lip 26 arranged concentrically of the mounting formation.
