Granular washing agents comprise component (a) comprising an anionic detergent, component (b) comprising a per compound, and component (c), free from (a) and (b), which is an inorganic cleaning salt in powder form wholly or partially coated with a coating comprising an enzyme and at least one non-ionic detergent which is a polyglycol ether derivative of a fatty alcohol which contains 5 to 15 ethylene glycol groups and 12 to 18 carbon atoms in the hydrocarbon residue, said polyglycol ether derivative melting at a temperature below 40‹ C. The agent may comprise 50 to 98% of (a) and (b) and 2 to 50% of (c). Component (c) may have a bulk density of 200-900 g. per litre. It may be coated, e.g. by spraying, with a suspension of the enzyme(s) in the liquefied non-ionic detergent. Component (c) may be predominantly triphosphate but may contain tri- and polymetaphosphates, alkali metal silicates, magnesium silicate (stabilizer) and sequestering agents e.g. ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid. Component (a) may comprise anionic synthetic detergents, soaps, ampholytes, non-ionic detergents, sequestering agents, inorganic salts, foam stabilizers e.g. fatty acids and triazine derivatives, sodium cellulose glycollate, brightening agents e.g. a mixture of a diaminostilbene disulphonic acid and diarylpyrazoline (3:1), disinfectants, dyes, perfumes and deodorants. Component (b) is preferably sodium perborate which may contain an inorganic per salt (e.g. persulphate) or an organic per compound (e.g. urea perhydrate or an organic peracid or peroxide). Typical enzymes are pepsin, pancreatin, trypsin, papain, diastase and an enzyme from Bacillus subtilis. Specification 1,151,748 is referred to.
