Abstract

1,244,342. Optical aperture arrangements. RICOH K.K. Sept. 11, 1968 [Sept. 29, 1967], No. 43156/68. Heading G2A. A web 13 having a number of spaced parallel slots and a plate 12 having a single slot are moved perpendicularly to each other by a rack, pinion and sprocket arrangement such that the slot in plate 12 intersects each of the slots in web 13 in turn to define columns of discrete aperture positions as shown in Fig. 4. The aperture arrangement may be used in the photographic system shown in Fig. 1. A lens 1, with the aperture positioned at 3, forms an image A which is split by a multiple lens 2 into a plurality of discrete portions which are recorded on a film 4. Movement of the aperture to a position 3a allows the split image of another object to be recorded over different portions of sheet 4, and so on for other objects and aperture positions. The image of each object may then be individually viewed by using the aperture in a projection system.
