1,242,777. Anticoccidial compositions. MERCK & CO. Inc. 10 Nov., 1969 [13 Nov., 1968; 13 Oct., 1969], No. 54912/69. Heading A5B. Anticoccidial compositions comprise a carrier and a 2-loweralkylaminoethanol ("lower" signifying groups containing 2-4 C atoms), especially 2-t-butylaminoethanol. Optionally, there may also be present anticoccidial sulphonamides (in particular 3-substituted-4-sulphanilamido-1,2,5-thiadiazoles) and 2,4-diamino-5- phenyl (or benzyl)-6-C 1-6 alkyl pyrimidines, the former compounds thereby being potentiated. The compositions may be in conventional forms, e.g. feedstuffs, premixes and concentrates for addition to feedstuffs and drinking water. The invention also comprises the method of combating coccidiosis by administering to poultry an active compound or a composition as defined above.
