Abstract

An air cooling and distributing unit for a motor vehicle cabin comprises panels 14, 16 which are mounted beneath a roof opening to define spaces D, A communicating respectively with the air inlet and outlet of an evaporator mounted above the roof opening, the space D having air inlets 35, and the space A having at least one main air outlet 21 and peripheral air outlets, each including a rotatable air directing element 25. Each element 25 is made of plastics and is retained in position by spring supports. Air is drawn from a rear space of the vehicle cabin through a duct 36 which is controlled by a pivoted flap 37, releasably held in an adjusted position by a spring 39a. The outlet 21 has a flow directing grille cover 22.
