Abstract

1,241,643. Container rinsing apparatus. BARRY-WEHMILLER CO. 2 Feb., 1970 [3 Feb., 1969], No. 4958/70. Heading B8T. A container rinsing apparatus comprises a rise-fluid distributer 32 connected, e.g. by flexible conduits 41, to nozzles 24 on a carrier 19 which moves around a closed path, surrounding the distributer, part of which path coincides with the path of a conveyer 10 which transports containers C in an inverted position, container engaging means, e.g. cups 22, being provided to register nozzles and containers. As the nozzles 24 mesh with the necks of the inverted containers C, they are supplied with rinsing fluid by the distributer 32 which has a stationary core with chambers 47, 48 communicating with fluid supply orifices 45, 46. The distributer housing 34 rotates in synchronism with the nozzle carrier causing the bores 39, which lead to the flexible conduits 41 and nozzles 24, to pass over the chambers which are positioned so that only nozzles meshed with containers are supplied with fluid. The container-neck engaging cups 22 are associated with each nozzle. The fluid supply may be continuous or intermittent.
