On leaving a dyebath, excess dye liquor is removed from a web 9 by means of two rollers 1, 2 spaced apart and mounted on a carrier plate 3 rotatable about a pivot 6 to vary the vertical distance between the rollers. One, preferably the lower, of the rollers is driven. The carrier plate may be rotated and locked in a given position by means of a sprocket 7 and a manually driven drive chain 8 or by means of a spring device.
