Abstract

1,241,521. Aerials. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON HOUSTON-HOTCHKISS BRANDT. 7 Aug., 1969 [8 Aug., 1968], No. 39656/69. Addition to 1,208,199. Heading H4A. A pylon-type M.F. aerial is made up of sections which are mechanically connected by insulators and are electrically connected by capacitive phasing impedances, the length of any section not exceeding #/2 (#=wavelength at the mean frequency of operation). The pylon is supported by conductive stays, each of which is connected to ground, and to a section at a voltage node. As described, three sections 1, 2, 3 are, respectively, 3#/8, #/4, 3#/8 long. Section 1 rests upon a base insulator, and spacing insulators 4, 5 are provided between sections 1, 2 and 2, 3. The sections are electrically connected by suitable lengths of open transmission line, formed by vertical conductors 6, 7 within the pylon. Stays 8, 9, 10 are connected to the sections 1, 2, 3 respectively at distances of #/4, #/8, #/8 from their lower ends. Other details are as described in the parent Specification.
