Abstract

A decalcomania transfer for use in applying a design to a ceramic article comprises a paper sheer, an image printed on the paper in a ceramic paste and coated with gold, silver or platinum powder and a lacquer coating over the image. The sheer may carry a plurality of such images, separated by lacquer layers, and also areas of a background colour. The ceramic paste employed may comprise equal amounts by weight of tin oxide.
