Abstract

1,239,995. Bronzing apparatus. HAUNIWERKE KORBER & CO. K.G. 27 Nov., 1968 [13 Jan., 1968], No. 56204/68. Heading B6C] Bronze powder is applied to cigarette paper web 3 by pile-surfaced applicator 22, and sticks to areas of the web previously printed with an adhesive by cylinder 7. Brush rollers 23, 24, 26 remove any bronze powder not held by the adhesive. Ball chain or other conveyer 13 lifts powder from supply 11, and drops it on to roller 16, where it is held by pile covering 30. An amount regulated by stripper blade 20 is passed to applicator 22 and the remainder of the powder brought by conveyer 13 returns to supply 11. Alternatively, a chain conveyer may supply powder to a horizontal disc swept by a stripper blade and a vertical pile-covered roller transfer powder from the disc to the applicator.
