A vehicle seat has a pneumatic spring comprising a cushion 2 filled with compressed air and disposed inside a box 1 pivoted to the ends of the arms 4, 7 of parallelogram linkages. The upper arms 4 of the linkages also carry a rod 3 which is pressed into the cushion 2 as the linkages swing downwardly. The seat 9 and back 10 are secured to the rod 3. The seat may have two rods 3 each pressing into an air cushion (Fig. 2).
