Abstract

[Also in Division A4] Apparatus, coin or push button controlled for dispensing liquids from two flexible containers 2, Fig. 2, having flexible outlet pipes 3 leading to a common dispensing chamber 8, Fig. 2, has a translucent cup 16 falling from supply 14, down shoot 15 to between a lamp and photoelectric sensor at opening 19. Or actuation of a solenoid pinch-cock 4-6, liquid fills the cup to a predetermined level after which it interrupts the light to the sensor which, e.g. via a relay, closes the pinch-cock. Due to frothing, e.g. of fresh milk, an adjustable time delay device 20 delays the closing of the pinch-cock. The containers may have the same or different liquids, e.g. milk and squash, selection of immobilizing the delivery of the other. Counters 22a, 22b going down to zero indicate the quantity in each container, and may switch from one to the other, for the same liquid, when one container is empty, and empty signs may automatically appear. The dispensing chamber is formed by a bore 10 inserted into the apparatus from the outside under flap 9 and secured by rear nut 11. Spilt liquid drains away at 13 and the base may be removed for cleaning. The base, shoot and supply of cups are carried by the front door 7.
