Abstract

1,239,015. Ramp for mine face conveyer. MAVOR & COULSON Ltd. 10 Oct., 1968 [11 Oct., 1967], No. 46357/67. Heading B8A. The ramp 1 on the face side of a mining conveyer comprises an inclined plate 2 resiliently mounted, on rubber seals 8 and blocks 9, between the outer ends of an angle iron 3 and a pneumatic vibrator 12 mounted on the plate to vibrate the same when the conveyer is moved towards the face. The angle iron 3 is bolted to the side face of the conveyer. The vibrator may comprise a ball rotating in a chamber under the influence of compressed air or a pneumatic hammer, alternatively the vibrator may be hydraulic, mechanical or electrical. The frequency of vibration is 16,000 cycles min.
