Abstract

1,238,469. Preservative composition for fibrous materials. HAGER A.B. 20 June, 1968, No. 29360/68. Heading A5E. A preservative composition, for wood and other similar fibrous materials, comprises (i) 0.5-3.0 molar parts of copper present in the composition as cupric oxide or as cupric cations, (ii) 1-3 molar parts of chromium present in the form of chromium trioxide or as hexavalent oxygen-containing anions, and (iii) 1.0 molar parts of phosphorus pentoxide, 0.5 molar parts of phosphoric oxide, (1-x) molar parts of phosphorus pentoxide together with x molar parts of sulphuric acid or arsenic pentoxide, x being greater than 1 and less than zero, or (0.5-y) molar parts of phosphoric oxide together with y molar parts of sulphuric acid or arsenic pentoxide, y being less than 0.5 and greater than zero.
