Abstract
1,238,284. Screw conveyer for lowering bottles &c. BAR EQUIPMENT & REFRIGERATION CO. Ltd. 28 Oct., 1968 [27 Oct., 1967], No. 49016/67. Heading B8A. Empty bottles from floor 26 are inserted by hand into the top portion of vertical screw 1 so as to rest on plate 13 pivoted at 14, the plate 13 being appropriately displaced by cam 17 to allow the bottle to fall on to plate 18 fixed to screw 1. The bottle then falls on to the screw itself, being guided thereby down to the bottom where cam 20 guides the bottle on to platform 22 and thus into tray 19, past spring fingers (not shown). Screw 1 (Fig. 3).-The screw may be formed as a plurality of identical end-to-end plastic segments 28, each of which has protrusions 30, 31 which mate with corresponding cavities 29, 32 (not shown) to make the completed screw.
