Abstract

1,237,469. Valves; fluid pressure control of brakes. GIRLING Ltd. 20 April, 1970 [5 July, 1969], No. 33977/69. Headings F2F and F2V. A pair of oppositely acting rocking closure members 26, 34 are movable by a piston 12 to selectively, and progressively, interconnect an outlet (39), connected to chamber 32, with either a pressure inlet 23, or a union 33 connected to a reservoir. As applied to a vehicle braking system the outlet (39) is connected to the brake slave cylinders, inlet 23 is fed from an hydraulic accumulator and piston 12 is actuated by the brake pedal. In a modification (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown) a second piston (17) and spring (18) are interposed between rod 19 and piston 12.
