Fruit and vegetables, dressing.-Beet is scraped or dressed by means of a horizontal rotating wooden cylinder a having a. number of longitudinal grooves b and covered with perforated metal c roughened or serrated on its outer face as shown at d. The beet is held against the rotating cylinder whereby the skin is scraped off and passes through the perforations into the grooves. At the opposite end to the driving shaft is secured a hollow, perforated, and externally-roughened metal cone f, against the end of which half lemons, oranges, or the .like may be pressed, the pulp and juice passing into the cone for collection in any vessel.
