Abstract

1,236,088. Polyamide based printing inks; nitrocellulose compositions. SCHERING A.G. 4 June, 1968 [7 June, 1967], No. 26465/68. Headings C3F and C3R. A printing ink comprises (a) a polyamide obtained by condensing 3 - (aminomethyl)- 3,5,5 - trimethyl - 1 - cyclohexylamine with a dicarboxylic acid component comprising (1) a diacid HOOC-R-COOH, where R is (CH 2 ) n , n being 0 to 10, or is or (ii) a mixture of (1) with up to 70 equivalent per cent of the total mixture of a polymeric fat acid; (b) a colouring material; and (c) a solvent. The ink may also include other binders e.g. nitrocellulose or ketone - formaldehyde, maleinate or abietic acid resins. The preparation of polyamides (a) using various acids and chain terminating agents is described. Numerous colouring materials and solvents are specified.
