Abstract
1,235,987. Orienting crown corks. A. NAECKER, E. ORTMANN, A.-L. SEEMANN, and N. BALTES, [trading as ORTMANN & HERBST]. 30 July, 1969 [3 Aug., 1968], No. 38164/69. Heading B8S. As crown corks 6, 7 fall down a tube 1 those oriented as at 6 are turned slightly anti-clockwise by a deflector 4 on the wall of the tube, and those oriented as at 7 are turned slightly clockwise by the deflector. The latter corks fall down a curved tube formed by guides 5, 5<SP>1</SP> and 12, 12<SP>1</SP> from the bottom of which they pass into a straight tube down which the caps 6 have fallen. In falling down the curved tube the caps are turned through 180 degrees so that they are facing the same way as the caps which pass down the straight tube. In an alternative arrangement both tubes are curved so that all the caps are turned through 90 degrees either clockwise or anti-clockwise.
