In an apparatus for cutting, crushing and rolling: tea. leaf, the tea leaf is fed by belt 12 between the nip of toothed rollers 1, 2 where it is cut, crushed and rolled, is then fed by belt 13 between the nip of toothed rollers 17, 18 where it is cut, crushed and' rolled to a finer degree and is then discharged by belt 24, e.g. to a fermentation station. Rollers 1, 17 are rotated more slowly than rollers 2, 18 respectively. The rollers 1, 2, 17, 18 are driven by electric motors 3, 4, 19, 20 respectively.
