Abstract

1,235,449. Stacking articles. COMPAGNIA ITALIANA NEST-PACK S.p.A. 8 May, 1968 [27 Sept., 1967], No. 55399/70. Divided out of 1,232,833. Heading B8C. A device for stacking vacuum formed sections S of sheet material, each section containing a plurality of individual articles P, and subdividing the stacked sections into stacks of single articles includes a table 40 on to which the sections are run by conveyer belts 41 mounted flush with the table. As each section arrives on the table it is pushed sideways therefrom on to a stacking table 43, located to one side of and below table 40, by means of blades 47, rotatably mounted to one side of table 40 by means of a motor-driven shaft 44. The stack thus formed on table 43 is subsequently laterally transferred on to a conveyer 49 located directly below table 40 and is finally fed to a cutting device 51 for subdivision into individual stacks. The stack is fed by conveyer 49 on to table 52 until it abuts stop 53 after which blade 51 is lowered to cut stacks of single articles from the stack, the stack being firmly engaged during the cutting by a member 54 lowered with the blade. After cutting, the cutter and member 54 are raised, the cut stack of single articles removed and the rest of the stack indexed forward by the conveyer 49 to present a new set of articles to the blade.
