A herbicidal composition comprises a fluoropropionic acid of formula: wherein X is Cl or F, or a salt, ester or amide of said acid, and one or more herbicides selected from dinitroaniline derivatives, carbamate derivatives, quaternary ammonium derivatives, chlorinated aliphatic acids and their derivatives, aminotriazole derivatives, diazine derivatives and triazine derivatives. Particular herbicides specified are trifluralin, nitralin, benfluralin, propham, phenmedipham, diquat, paraquat, dalapon, sodium monochloroacetate, amitrole, pyrazon, bromacil, simazine and atrazine.
