Multiple - needle sewing - machines; governing n e e d l e thread.-Relates to rotary thread takeup devices of the kind described in Specification 122,863, and is described as applied to a multipleneedle sewing-machine. The take-up device for each thread consists of a pair of cam-disks c<1>, c<2>, c<3>, c<4> across the active peripheral portion of which the thread is led by guides in forks 151 pivotally supported on posts 150. Acting in conjunction with and between each pair of cam disks is a stripper plate 156 with a thread-guiding slot 157. The plates are disposed in pairs against the opposed walls of slots in a support 156<11> and clamped in position by arched spring plates 156<a> adapted to be slightly flattened by screws 156<b>. The spaces between the take-up devices is closed by bowed resilient guard strips 170 to prevent the threads winding about the cam shape in case of breakage.
