Abstract
1,235,149. Reactor pressure vessels. SIEMENS A.G. 24 July, 1968, No. 35422/68. Heading G6C. In a prestressed concrete, -nuclear reactor pressure vessel 1, the end aperture is closed by the conical cover, 3, which engages the vessel walls through the wedges 2. The cover 3 is formed of the four sectors 31 held together by the cables 32 and supported on the hydraulic lifting devices 4, fixed on the pressure vessel wall. The jointing 33 between the sectors has mating teeth. The wedges, 2, form a closed ring and engage the wall blocks 11 through the teeth 21. The steel sealing skin 14, is separated from the pressure vessel wall by the concrete 16, and is welded to the sealing skin of cover 3 by the toroid connection 15. Cooling conduits 36 are provided in 31.
