Abstract

[Also in Division F2] A resilient washer 14 for securing an annular member 12 to a shaft 10 comprises a plurality of U-shaped fingers 20 extending radially outwardly from an annular portion 18, the fingers 20 defining abutments 36 for bearing against a radial face 16 of the shaft. The washer 14 which may also comprise a plurality of radially inwardly extending fingers 22 for engagement within a groove 24 of a shaft portion 26 is arranged, in use, to abut a chamfered portion 40 of the annular member 12 and prevent the latter from disengaging the shaft, disengagement being possible by deforming the washer radially inwardly. The washer 14 may be made of steel.
