Abstract

1,235,080. Phase sensitive detectors. WERKZEUGMASCHINENKOMBINAT " FRITZ HECKERT " VEB. 23 Feb., 1970, No. 8584/70. Heading H3A. A phase-sensitive demodulator comprises a pair of transistors 6, 7 connected as a long-tail pair with a third transistor 10 as a common emitter load, the modulated signal being applied to the base of transistor 6, the base of transistor 7 being A.C. coupled to earth, and the reference signal being coupled to the base of transistor 10. The outputs from the collectors of transistors 6, 7 are coupled to voltage doubler circuits 14, 15, 16 and 18, 19, 20 which may be, as shown, oppositely poled to provide a non-symmetrical output signal at terminal 25. Alternatively, Fig. 2 (not shown), the voltage doubler circuits may be similarly poled to produce a balanced output.
