Abstract

1,234,837. Bearings. SVENSKA KULLAGERPABRIKEN A.B. 8 Aug., 1968 [10 Aug., 1967], No. 37965/68. Heading F2A. A spiral groove bearing assembly has two relatively rotatable bearing plates 25, 27 one of which is supported on a fluid cushion retained by an elastic wall member 23 between two support plates 24, 25 such that a plate member common to both pairs of plates, or the adjacent plates of both pairs and any intervening plates are free to tilt with respect to the second support plate. The elastic wall member is secured to the plates near their outer peripheries and may consist of a bellows or 0-ring or two flexible plates interconnected along their edges. Spiral grooves 26 are provided in at least one of the plates.
