Abstract
1,234,742. Palladium acetyl acetonate. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 14 Jan., 1970 [29 Jan., 1969], No. 1784/70. Heading C2C. Palladium acetyl acetonate having a low organically bound chlorine content (i.e. less than 0.05% by weight) is prepared by adding an aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solution to an aqueous alkali metal palladium chloride solution in a quantity sufficient to make the latter waterinsoluble; adding acetylacetone thereto in a quantity sufficient to convert the waterinsoluble palladium compound into palladium acetyl acetonate and agitating the resulting mixture until a deposit is formed which after washing and drying is at least 99% soluble in benzene. The reaction is preferably carried out at a temperature of from 10‹ to 40‹ C.
