Abstract

1,234,334. I.C. engine silencers. W. EBERSP€CHER and H. EBERSP€CHER [trading as J. EBERSP€CHER] March 27, 1969 [May 31, 1968], No.16141/69. Heading F1B. A sound absorber e.g. for I. C, engines, comprises individual laminations 3 mounted on a frame in such a manner that they are adapted to enclose at least three exposed sides of the sound source, a gap for the passage of air being left between each pair of laminations. One surface of each lamination is covered by a perforated plate 4 and the other surface is covered by an imperforate plate. The engine exhaust pipe is mounted in the space between the laminations 1 and the lateral laminations 5, the space being determined by the arms 7 which engage tie-bar 8.
