Abstract

1,233,961. Transistor switching circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. 8 Jan., 1969, No. 1122/69. Heading H3T. A first transistor is switched on via a second transistor followed by a transformer and is switched off, in response to the rise of current in the first transistor, via a third transistor and a transformer. When transistor T2 is switched on by a signal at its base a voltage is applied through transformer TR1, TR2 to transistor Tl to saturate it. Current builds up through inductor L until the resulting voltage across a resistor r causes T3 to conduct and switch Tl off. If (as in Fig. 1, not shown) T4 is omitted the current pulse in T1 is thus terminated. However, in Fig. 3, the input pulse is also applied via transformer TR5 to T4 which is connected to such a voltage that when TR1 goes off the same load current is maintained through T4 until the signal terminates. Diode D2 prevents excessive rise of collector voltage of T1.
