Abstract

1,233,887. Clips; suspended cuttings. SPRING STEEL FASTENERS Inc. 3 June, 1969 [6 June, 1968], No. 28108/69. Headings E1W and E2B. A mounting bracket 10 for resilient engagement with opposite planar walls of a beaded structural member 12, comprises a stem integral with a bifurcated clip portion, the clip portion being defined by first and second branch means including divergent portions, convergent portions and intermediate rectilinear portions, the convergent portions, in use of the bracket, resiliently engaging portions of opposed planar faces of the structural member. As shown, the bracket 10 is engaged with the stem portion of a T-shaped structural member 12 used for supporting suspended acoustical ceiling panels and includes a stem portion 26 and a portion 34 for supporting electrical conduit or fittings, the stem portion 26 merging with a clip portion formed by arms 28, 30 and 32 which resiliently engage a beaded portion 24 and opposite faces of the stem portion 26. In another arrangement, Figs. 6-8 (not shown), conduit is supported on the portion 34 by means of a spring clip (56) and the free end of the longer arm of the clip portion is open. The bracket may be made of metal or plastics material.
