[Also in Division F2] In a stop cock 1, the housing which encloses a rotatable stop plug 3 is formed from two parts 2 and 5, each of which has a sharp ridge 9 and 8, respectively, the two parts being fitted one into the other subsequent to which they are welded at 7. The plug shaft 10 is contained within a sleeve 6 which projects through an aperture formed in the housing part 2 and is hard-soldered to it, with the soldering being effected out of contact with atmosphere. Neither the soldered, nor the welded connection are said to require after treatment.
