Abstract

A room is heated or cooled by passing air through a ventilating ceiling, the ceiling being formed of frame members 11 supporting ceiling tiles 14 and a plastics sheet 20 attached to the members 11 and which contains the air. Air gaps 18 are formed between spline members 12 intersecting the frame members at rightangles. Spigots 24 are attached to the air-containing sheets for supply of air and may also connect several adjacent sheets. An air-tight end 23 is fixed in each end of each sheet. It is possible to supply air to all or to selected portions of a room or to supply air at different temperatures to individual parts of a room. Spring clips 25 and channel members 21 hold the plastics sheet on the frame members.
