Abstract

1,232,715. Transferring designs. DENNISON MFG. CO. Ltd. 3 July, 1969 [3 July, 1968], No. 33701/69. Heading B6C. A square-sided bottle B, Fig. 1, is labelled on all four sides in an automatically actuated machine in which each side is presented in turn to a web 62 carrying a transfer design. A pneumatically actuated carriage 6 collects the bottle B to be labelled from a conveyer 2 and pushes it to a position E from which it is moved forward four times by an oscillating device 21 each forward stroke presenting a different bottle side to the transfer web 62. During each of the three return passages from the transfer or labelling position F, the bottle is released by the pneumatically controlled means which hold the bottle during the actual transfer operations, such that it may be automatically turned about its vertical axis through 90 degrees. The labelled bottles are withdrawn from the incline on a conveyer 3.
