Abstract

1,232,048. Treatment chambers. O. H. DRAGER [trading as DRAKERWERK, HEINR. & BERNH. DRAGER]. 22 July, 1968 [22 July, 1967], No. 34921/68. Heading A5R. [Also in Divisions F4 and G3] An incubator for a baby 3 comprises a housing 1, a device 7 for heating the atmosphere within the housing, temperature responsive devices 4, 5 for sensing the temperature of the said atmosphere and the baby's skin respectively, and a control device 6 connected to the said temperature responsive devices 4,5, the arrangement being such that if the temperature of the skin rises above or falls below a specific normal value the temperature of the atmosphere is decreased or increased respectively between certain limits. In one embodiment the temperature of the said atmosphere cannot be decreased or increased below and above lower and upper critical values. In another embodiment the arrangement is such that, for an increase or decrease in the skin temperature from said specific normal value, the temperature of the atmosphere is decreased or increased respectively, in proportion to said increase or decrease in the skin temperature.
