Abstract

1,231,556. Boring earth. NYA ASFALT A.B. 9 Feb., 1970 [28 Feb., 1969], No. 6102/70. Heading E1F. Drilling equipment, especially for drilling in earth or loose rock comprises an inner bit 6, an outer ring-shaped drill bit 5, and a casing pipe 1 connected to the outer bit, the inner bit being detachably connected to the outer bit so that on the one hand the casing pipe can transmit impact and rotation forces to both bits, and on the other hand the inner bit can be expelled from the outer bit whilst in the hole being bored. As shown the inner bit is frictionally held in the outer bit and can be expelled by means of a rod inserted through the casing or by establishing an overpressure in the pipe. Alternatively the bits may be connected by threads or bayonet means. The inner bit may have. upwardly extending part connectable by threads or bayonet means to a drill stem so that the drilling may continue with the inner bit only.
