In a liquid flow measuring or indicating device flow through a tube 1 in the direction of arrow 2 contacts a plate 3 to pivot a lever 4 against a tension, spring 6 to operate a switch 7 depending on the flow irrespective of the liquid temperature. The plate 3 is supported by a bi-metallic strip 9 which changes form in response to liquid temperature changes to tilt the plate 3. In a further embodiment, Fig. 2, 2A (not shown), a bi-metallic element moves transversely across a fixed diameter orifice. In an alternative embodiment a spring biased permanent magnet in the tube is moved by the liquid to operate a switch externally of the tube. In yet a further embodiment an axially expandable body with a frusto-conical head arranged in the tube varies the liquid passage area through a fixed area orifice. Fig. 4 and 5 (not shown).
