Abstract
1,231,314. Unpacking. A. STICHHAN. 26 July, 1969, No. 37669/69. Heading B8C. Rows 5-8 of open-ended tubes are unpacked from a package 2 on a conveyer 1 and are transferred to a conveyer 3 by means of a row of holding fingers 9 which are reciprocated by a drive wheel 11 to enter and lift the tubes, pivoted about the axes of the drive wheel 11, extended to place the tubes over the conveyer 3, and retracted so that a comb 15 strips the tubes therefrom. The fingers 9 are mounted on a bar 9<SP>1</SP> having an extension which is attached to a rack 21 and is slidably received in a housing 51 pivoted on a shaft 23. The rack 21 is reciprocated by a wheel 22 which is rotated via a chain and sprocket linkage 27, 29, 31, 33, 35 by a pivot-arm 39 acted on by a cam 47 and connected to the chain 35. The housing 51 is pivoted by a second cam 61 which acts on a bell-crank lever 57, one arm 57a of which carries a toothed rack 31 which meshes with a toothed rim 53 of the housing 51.
