Openwork steel flooring comprises a latticework of flat bars disposed on edge, one parallel set 11 having centrally disposed openings 14 through which the others of the other set 10 pass, the latter having slots 12 in their upper edges to permit them to engage about the upper edge of the first set above the openings 14 so that auxiliary flat bars 16 can also pass through the openings 14 and be positioned below the bars of the second set to retain the latter in position.
