Abstract
1,229,938. Plastics tubes. WAVIN N.V. 27 Sept., 1968 [29 Sept., 1967], No.46081/68. Heading F2P. A fibre reinforced plastics tube 3 of thermo. setting synthetic resin has an inner lining 5 of thermoplastics material, or rubber, which has stuck to its outer surface finely divided material 6 which anchors it to the tube 3. The material 6 preferably consists of pulverized polyethylene, polypropylene or polyvinylchloride, or fibrous particles of these materials. Alternatively, particles of molten zinc may be sprayed on to thermoplastic foil wound to form the inner lining 5. As shown, the tube 1 comprises an inner layer wound from polyethylene foil 5 and having anchoring particles, e.g. of polyvinylchloride 6 of about 2 mm. diameter, blown onto the foil material heated to 150‹ C., fibre windings 2, 4 wound in opposite directions, thermosetting synthetic resin layers 3, 8, and a layer of foamed plastics 7 covered by a layer of thermosetting resin 8.
