Abstract
1,228,446. Container for X-ray tube. USINES BALTEAU. 11 April, 1968, No. 17597/68. Heading H5U. In an X-ray emitting apparatus, the X-ray emitting tube 3 is mounted in a metal container from which it is insulated by mounts 5 and an atmosphere of sulphur hexafluoride, and to remove the decomposition products formed in the gas by the action of the X-rays, the apparatus includes a filter device 8 through which by a gas circulating means, e.g. pump 6 and guides 9, the gas is forced to pass whilst circulating continuously within the container. The filter means preferably comprises a solid absorbent which may be an alkaline material, e.g. NaOH or KOH, or it may be activated alumina.
