[Also in Divisions C6-C7; F3-F4] A fine mesh metal grid 3 is secured to a metal plate 1 by first curving the plate 1 to form a convex surface, tensioning the grid 3 over the surface and bonding it thereto, after which the plate 1 is curved to form a final concave surface. A tantalum grid 3 is joined to a tantalum plate 1 by heating, welding or by a niobium coating formed by the reduction of niobium pentachloride with hydrogen at 1000‹ C. After joining, the plate is formed into an arterial heat pipes Fig. 2, to which an arterial capillary pipe 7 is welded at the weld seam 6.
