1,226,790. Wax emulsions containing fungicides. MOBIL OIL CORP. 13 Dec., 1968, No. 59461/68. Heading A5E. An oil-in-water wax emulsion comprises an oil phase and a water phase the oil phase comprising a wax component in from 5 to 45% by weight of the emulsion, an N-substituted imide as fungicide in the oil phase in at least 0.5% by weight of the emulsion, and an imide solvent in the oil phase in from 5 to 45% by weight of the oil phase. A typical example contains microcrystalline wax, petrolatum filtrate, diethanolamine + C 20 -C 22 fatty acids (as emulsifier), captafol and water. Other imides specified are captan, and various Hgcontaining dicarboximides. The emulsions find application in combating fungus growth in wound areas created by bark removal in the making of rubber tree cuts.
